Shouts 2016 - ALB (46) ILB (48) Arancia (10) Y-Class (1) - Total (105)
Callout Procedure
When HM Coastguard receive information, either by a 999 call, by VHF Radio (Ch 16) or through the other emergency services, and require lifeboat assistance using the ALB, ILB or sometimes both lifeboats; they page the 'Lifeboat Operations Manager' with a Launch Request. If the Operations Manager is happy for the launch to go ahead, HM Coastguard will then page the crew. The crew are already on their way to the station from the Launch Request, the second page just confirms which boat is required. Upon arriving the crew must kit up and make their way down through the marina to the lifeboat. This whole process takes around 8 to 12 minutes. So crew must live and work within only a few minutes of the station.
